As a modern international airport integrated with ocean, land and air transportation in China, Shenzhen Baoan International Airport is the first international airport with transit transportation mode in China. With navigation opened in October 1991, Shenzhen Baoan International Airport had opened 141 airlines, both domestically and internationally, by the end of June 2013,connecting 103 cities both at home and abroad and 9 passenger and cargo transportation base aviation companies.
Passenger and cargo throughput of Shenzhen Baoan International Air port is on the rise significantly since it was opened to air traffic and it is ranked as the forth largest airport nationwide for many years continuously.In terms of passenger transportation, Shenzhen Baoan International Airport became the forth largest airport nationwide in December 1996. In 2003 the passenger throughput broke through 100 million and it jumped to the top 100 airports worldwide.
