West China Second University Hospital

The West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University (WCSUH- SCU), also known as West China Women’sand Children’s Hospital, Sichuan University, is directly supervised by the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China. It originated from the Ren ji Women’s Hospital that was set up in 1896. In 1987, the hospital wase stablished on the basis of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Pediatrics in the University Hospital of the former West China University of Medical Sciences. After the merger of West China University o fMedical Sciences and Sichuan University, the hospital has taken its present names. The hospital was one of the first national top tertiary hospitals, and the first internet hospital in Sichuan Province. The hospital initiated the Regional Medical Consortium Program in 2016, and the contracted hospitals are supposed to reach 100. As a medical center for women and children in southwestern China and a university hospital, the hospitalplays important roles in medical services, education, research, disease prevention and healthcare.
